Jack will do just about anything to get the shot. His cameras have the battle scars to prove it.

A filmmaker, creative problem-solver and longtime JayRay partner, Jack brings a cinematic eye — and a skateboarder’s instinct for never missing the moment — to our video work.

Over the years, Jack has put that eye to work for brands big and small, including Stanley, and alongside JayRay for clients like Visit Yuma and Parametrix. He’s especially at home on our tourism work, where the best footage isn’t always on the shot list. It’s the unexpected light, the local character, the movement or tiny detail that makes you feel what it’s actually like to be there. From planning the shot to finding it in the moment to obsessing over the final color grade, Jack is always looking for the frame that makes you want to go.

That willingness to chase the shot has taken him some interesting places — including 600 feet straight down in a hot-wired helicopter (cue Creedence) while filming on King Ranch. The camera survived. So did Jack.

When he’s not filming for work, there’s a good chance he’s still holding a camera. Jack has spent the past 20 years filming skateboarding for the simple reason that he loves it. He’s also a fisherman, bass player and illustrator — and recently self-published two zines featuring his drawings, writing and film photography.
