Give Emilie a good story and she’ll want to know everything about it. Then she’ll find the details that make everyone else want to know, too.

Before joining JayRay, Emilie built her career as a documentary television producer, researching, developing and shaping stories for networks including BET and National Geographic. That meant digging deep, asking better questions, interviewing people, sorting through mountains of information and figuring out what would make an audience care — skills that translate pretty perfectly to communications.

Today, she brings that producer’s eye to client work, whether she’s uncovering the story behind a destination, developing a video concept, shaping a pitch or turning a complicated topic into something clear, human and worth sharing. She knows the best stories rarely start with the obvious; they’re usually hiding in the details.

A career highlight was producing National Geographic’s The Atlas of Cursed Places, where history, anthropology, science and travel all collided in a single, very research-heavy rabbit hole.

Emilie earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Pacific Lutheran University and a Master of Arts from University of the Arts London. Off the clock, she’s happiest hiking, skiing or disappearing somewhere cell service can’t follow. And when she stays home, she swaps research rabbit holes for knitting needles and paintbrushes — because apparently even relaxing calls for a creative challenge.
