TAPCO
What Do You Love?
After the initial momentum of a rebrand began to fade, TAPCO Credit Union faced a familiar challenge: standing out in a crowded financial landscape dominated by national banks. They needed more than visibility — they needed renewed relevance. JayRay helped TAPCO reconnect with its roots and remind Pierce County residents what makes a truly local credit union different.
Guiding Thought
People don’t choose financial institutions. They choose relationships. We believed TAPCO’s greatest strength wasn’t its products, but its place in the community. By putting local pride and real members at the center, we could transform awareness into affinity, and affinity into growth.

Put Your Money Where Your Heart Is
We repositioned TAPCO around its founding purpose: serving Pierce County, not shareholders. The campaign invited residents to reflect on what they love about their community, connecting those feelings directly to TAPCO’s role as a trusted local partner.
The work extended across digital, outdoor and hyperlocal sponsorships, supported by a financial education podcast starring local voices and a member appreciation giveaway program featuring hand-illustrated stickers. Every touchpoint reinforced TAPCO’s identity as a credit union shaped by the people it serves.

Local Voices, Center Stage
Real members and employees were photographed against a custom backdrop painted by a local artist, creating imagery that was unmistakably grassroots. The visuals felt personal, expressive and proudly Pierce County — impossible to confuse with national bank advertising.
Research into competitor positioning, audience motivations and community sentiment informed every decision, ensuring the campaign reflected both TAPCO’s heritage and its future.
Results: Loyalty, Amplified
