Brookfield Residential

PR Blueprint for a Growing Community

Creating a Home for Community News

Mountain views and quality homes were drawing new residents to the Tehaleh master-planned community. Meanwhile, developer Brookfield Residential was viewing the big picture, looking at infrastructure needs and community sentiment for the community 20 years in the future. Public relations efforts were planned to share information and help manage expectations as Tehaleh grew.

Guiding Thought

When a master-planned community grows at this scale, change isn’t just physical — it’s emotional. New homes, roads and amenities bring opportunity, but they also bring uncertainty. For places like Tehaleh, trust is built through clarity and consistency. Proactive, transparent communication isn’t a nice-to-have; it’s the foundation for long-term community relationships and shared momentum as growth unfolds.

Meaningful Messages Meet Consistent Design

We interviewed local leaders and surveyed Tehaleh residents about their concerns and wishes for the growing community. The resulting communication plan included messages and plans for ongoing resident communications, events, a visual identity for materials, news releases and media training for Brookfield leaders.

Attendance grew at residents’ quarterly town hall meetings, where they heard the latest news through Q&A handouts and displays we developed. Groundbreaking events and ribbon cuttings celebrated major new roadways and partnerships with local governments.

Shout About the Milestones

Our initial research guided us to more effective messaging and tactics for resident communications. We helped Tehaleh leaders build relationships with residents and the broader community with website content, presentations and handouts. We hired a former journalist as part of our media training, giving on-camera interview practice for potential Brookfield spokespeople.

News releases kept media outlets and industry sources updated on milestones such as Tehaleh’s first businesses and property additions. Working with city and county teams, we coordinated all the details for stakeholder events — invitations, hard hats, signs, speakers’ notes, heavy equipment in the background — and sent photos for media to use post-event.

Results: Engaged

Clear, consistent communications across the Tehaleh website, presentations and news releases built awareness and momentum — supporting county approval of Phase 2 plans. Residents now have clear channels to share feedback, and business reporters have responded with growing interest in Tehaleh’s progress.
