SIX PROJECTS RECOGNIZED FOR CREATIVITY, STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS

The Summit Creative Awards and Marcom Awards national programs recently recognized JayRay projects for outstanding design, ads and strategic communications.

A refreshing design standard for the Astoria Parks & Recreation Department enlivened materials including the program guide, flyer templates and print ads. Summit Creative Award judges reviewed before and after designs, and honored the work with a silver award.

Tapping community generosity in time of need, JayRay created its own charity auction as a fundraiser for COIVID-19 relief. Nine chairs painted by six commissioned local artists were featured on the online auction site, auction program and social media campaign. The effort, which was part of JayRay’s 50th anniversary celebration, earned a gold Summit Creative Award.

As United Way of Pierce County was celebrating 100 years, it needed to make the case for support to lift families out of poverty. Materials for United Way’s first major fundraising campaign in 10 years earned a platinum Marcom Award, the highest honor in the competition.

TAPCO Credit Union made the uncomfortable topic “Conversations every couple should have about money” into a reassuring podcast. The credit union’s podcast series also addressed credit cards, kids’ savings and mortgages, and it earned a Marcom gold award.

Custom illustrations brought a unique look to the TAPCO Credit Union ad campaign. Employees starred in the ads, emphasizing the credit union’s commitment to the local community. Marcom Award judges recognized the integrated campaign with a gold award.

Tacoma Community College promoted its bachelor’s degree programs with a viewbook focused on career advancement. The viewbook design, photos and copy had a sophisticated tone to attract professional-minded students. The work received a Marcom honorable mention award.
