Six Client Partners Win National Awards

JayRay’s work with six clients has earned national Communicator Awards and a dotCOMM Award. The recognized projects range from a social media influencer campaign to an interactive holiday card to a cargo container-turned-popup museum.

For the Port of Tacoma’s centennial last year, JayRay helped convert a cargo container into a traveling mini-museum. The agency also designed a centennial logo, ads and 28-page magazine to celebrate the Port’s milestone. The magazine earned a Communicator Award of Distinction. To wrap up a year of centennial celebrations, JayRay helped build a microsite for the Port’s holiday card. The microsite won a gold Summit Creative Award for its creativity in highlighting the history of fruitcake.

Additionally, Port staff entered multiple centennial projects in their industry’s American Association of Port Authorities Communications Competition. The judges recognized the campaign with five awards, including an Award of Distinction for the centennial container and an Award of Merit for the centennial magazine.

Intercity Transit’s Everyday Hero video earned a bronze Telly Award and a Communicator Award of Distinction for promoting vanpool ridership as part of a comprehensive digital and cable TV campaign. The “real stories” format emphasized saving money for something, or someone, you love.

Wesley Homes updated its identity through a branding process with JayRay. The organization is now “Wesley” and has a new modern logo and brand structure, updated brand language, advertising campaign, refreshed website and new marketing materials. The branding effort was recognized with a Communicator Award of Excellence.

Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt’s interactive holiday card was a microsite featuring a scavenger hunt for items in a busy city scene that represents its various clients’ industries. JayRay designed and developed the site and has partnered with the law firm to produce digital holiday cards—now highly anticipated by all the email recipients. The scavenger hunt greetings received a Communicator Award of Excellence in the microsite category.

Schwabe’s 2018 holiday site continued the tradition of unexpected creative execution. JayRay developed a Snapchat-esque photobooth experience and customized photobooth props and photo sharing/saving features. The interactive greetings won a dotCOMM Award for Interactive Capabilities in the Website Creativity category.

The redesigned Olympic Peninsula Tourism Commission website earned a Communicator Award of Distinction in the website category for travel/tourism. Stunning photography and descriptive stories evoke the curiosity of travelers, inspiring visits to the Olympic Peninsula, Washington’s adventure route.

Visit Kent brought attention to its ethnically diverse and creative culture with a social media influencer campaign, recognized with a Communicator Award of Distinction. Five micro-influencers from San Francisco, Portland and Seattle promoted Kent with digital photography and blog posts, reaching over 2 million potential visitors.
