NEW CENTURY, NEW STRATEGY FOR UNITED WAY

...

United Way of Pierce County is marking its centennial with a new approach to funding that is a better match for its passionate commitment to end the cycle of poverty one family at a time.

Because annual workplace campaigns on their own are not sufficient to achieve the United Way’s funding goal, it is launching the Creating Possibilities Together campaign. United Way seeks to raise $8 million during the multiyear effort.

JayRay created the messaging and suite of fundraising campaign materials. Emotional stories and supporting metrics combined for a powerful message that appeals to the head and the heart.

JayRay has partnered with United Way for more than 30 years.

United Way’s singular focus on poverty began in 2016, when the organization brought groundbreaking research to Pierce County. Data about Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE) families changed the conversation as the organization adopted the bold goal to raise 15,000 families out of poverty by 2028.

ALICE data updated this year and the economic devastation of COVID-19 underscores that generous donors are more important than ever.
