Women sharing cuisines from the Philippines to Afghanistan, Cambodia to the Congo were growing a following for Spice Bridge, a South King County program of the Food Innovation Network. This Tukwila global food hall is a culinary business incubator featuring immigrant chefs who are all women of color. Food writers and adventurers had taken notice. However, Spice Bridge’s limited webpage fell short in attracting the chefs, diners and donations that program organizers sought.
To ensure users (especially non-English speakers) could quickly find content, we made navigation simple and intuitive. Photos of the personable chefs and their colorful cuisines help make JayRay’s site design easy and engaging from the first click. Simple-to-follow tabs lead to program details, profiles of the incubator chefs, food hall hours and even a tasting guide. A Website Style and Training Guide provides step-by-step help and a custom training session made it easy for webmasters to learn how to update and add content.
