ADVICE FROM PAST INTERNS

Q: Why JayRay?
A: I was able to work with a talented team. I wanted to learn from the best strategists and creative thinkers. JayRay also has great name recognition in the area. After all, they’ve been around since 1970! Joining a business that the community knows and trusts was an incredibly valuable experience.

Q: Do you have any application advice?
A: Beyond the obvious (no spelling or grammar errors), show off your personality. Why are you a good fit and what can you bring to the table? The culture at JayRay is creative, energetic and passionate.

Q: How did the internship develop your professional experience?
A: The internship introduced me to several interesting industries—travel and tourism, health care, nonprofit and government. It was an invaluable experience to learn how they all apply marketing, creative and PR to advance the meaningful work that they do.

Q: How were you challenged during your internship and how did those challenges grow your professional skills?
A: Juggling multiple projects for multiple clients and agency staff was a big challenge at first. I had to think critically about prioritizing my time and keeping track of deadlines. I quickly learned a project management system that worked for me and continue to use it in my first official agency career role.
